First, you can use any PPD you want that already supports A3 paper sizes. When acrobat turns the file into a PDF, it will loose _all_ printer specific commands anyway. Just choose a Lino PPD or something like the HP 4M/4MV which supports larger paper sizes.
>The PPDs (several versions?? they all appear to be the same to me, Windows or >Mac) I downloaded from the Xerox site(s) don't work with Pagestream, ie I >don't get any options to choose resolution or paper sizes. The information >all appears to be there (when I read it as a text file) but it must work >differently under Windows. I did a test using a Linotronic PPD as supplied >with Pagestream and am awaiting the results.
Your test should be fine. However, the Xerox ppds should work also. Can you email them to me privately? I will take a look and see what is up. From time to time we find PPD's that are "broken", but for some reason Adobe products can still use them. The files don't follow the convention for PPDs, but they must have a very relaxed parser. I keep easing ours up, but I never know how far to take it. Seems people keep inventing new ways to break the PPD file format convention.
