Well, I had hoped that update 4 would allow the PPC Beta to run as much as it can run at first.
At the point that the install was still pristine (installed to a clean partition) I actually could open 5Pro and get as far as others have (font substitution box).
Oddly enough, as I kept adding things back in from program installs (libs, classes, etc) 5 Pro kept on working about as good as it can right now. Unfortunately I didn't keep a diary of every step I took.
I _THINK_ it was when I activated the one of the GUI themes that everything went back to my standard "vertical tool bar, tiny window, and no horizontal tool bar" behavior, like I had before with update 3.
I might install update 4 to a spare partition and see if I can definitely pin point the culprit, but it will be at least next week before I get time for it.
Oh. . . if I boot from the update 4 CD, I can run the PPC beta of PgS 5 Pro up to the usual crash points that other people have. But if it was simply installing a GUI theme that mucked up my fresh install of OS4, I hope it's something Deron can find in the code.
Deron, I'll try to get a fresh SnoopDos log off to you (off list this time)
