Hi Folks, While working on PageStream for Macintosh, I realized it was time to get bug tracking integrated into the PageStream website. With the heatwave going on around here, and no air conditioning, it seemed like a good time to take a break from the intense and work on a small diversion. Did a mention it was hot here ?!
So I have a working system up right now. _Nothing_ entered into it right now will stay. I am going to reset the system once everyone has a chance to play with it and provide some feedback. For those interested in looking, a little background to help you eval the new system. Very few folks use the existing bugzilla. Even I hate to use it. Mostly because no one else does. I'm too lazy to enter everyone's report, and it is hard to juggle two "lists".
So the bug tracking system should be easy, but useful. Same account as pagestream.org. Simple to create, simple comments. Simple! But track everything we need to track.
The only thing I can think that the new system needs is Prev/Next buttons when you are viewing a specific bug, and eventually I want to take and link to pages in the documentation system based on keywords entered. Not 100% sure how that would work, but something like do keyword search based on each item in the keywords field and let you "add"/"remove" the resulting items from the list. Would just have to tweak it until I got what I wanted. Then the bug would list relevant documentation pages (hotlinked of course) and the documentation pages would have hotlinked lists of relevant bugs.
I think the system should work as it is right now and I can tweak it as time goes. Let me know if I missed something important, if it makes sense, can any terms be simplified etc. The link is www.pagestream.org/showbugs.php.
Then I am going to try and go through all the bugzilla bugs and either fix them or at least copy them over.
Remember, anything you enter right now will be deleted when testing is done so don't get to worried about what you enter!
