I found some odd behaviour when editing the Flier. By and large, though, the revised font features are working.

To make sure something embedded in the Flier file was not having an effect, I wrote a new, short test file.

The font display and substitution requestor suggests alternatives for uninstalled fonts even in the new file. However, choosing a suitable alternative works well.

The font requestor button in the Edit Palette works fairly well. All the fonts can now be accessed and selected. Sometimes, after choosing a font well down the list, all the visible fonts are 'selected' and the actual font selected cannot be changed. Strangely, the behaviour improves each time the button is used in an editing session! The 'OK', 'Cancel' and the third button (I have just DSI'd PGS and cannot remember what it was!) are always highlighted. That does not seem to affect their operation.

I have played with different selections of text and changed fonts and paragraph settings in the edit palette. It all seems to work as intended other than the ability to type in a font size. That seems to be ignored, whereas the up/down buttons are fine.

I forgot to test the menu item that starts the font requestor. If it behaves any differently to the Edit Palette button, I will let you know.

I tried to reinstall TypeSmith without luck and eventually just copied over my old A4000 installation. I discovered that it only deals with outline fonts. If someone can point me to a bitmap editor I will have a poke at that Softlogic.font glyph.
