In an attempt to support your efforts for an improved/bug-fixed version of PageStream v5.x.x.x for MorphOS I have just paid for an upgrade from another release I own of PageStream.

However, soon after I paid for PageStream Pro v5.0.5.8 for MorphOS - I downloaded it, but it shows as a binary file/lha - why is that?

It's not usable like that, or is it?

I had expected to find it download it as a MorphOS executable, or an LHA archive that could be extracted, but it shows as an id Software PAK archive file, and so I'm not really sure what is supposed to be done with it to make it usable with MorphOS.

I've since figured it out - the file has to be UNZIPped, as it's the whole program and its associated folders/scripts, etc. but in an archived format that requires the UNZIP process to unarchive it all.

I've managed that now, but I would have thought it should have been explained what was required in detail as/when the purchase was completed.

So I started up PageStream v5.0.5.8 Beta for MorphOS, and even though it was implemented some 4 years later than the 68k version for Classic Amigas it is still not in the state you could call usable, but I believe this Beta release is a long way behind the current Beta that is being tested by some MorphOS user(s).

Is there any update to be made aware of?

Just so you know - there is likely to be a bounty to address some of the graphics issues with MorphOS hardware in the near future, which may have some impact on the implementation of some features of PageStream, but this is not confirmed - just a possibility.

It may be necessary to ask other MorphOS developers, such as, Mark 'bigfoot' Olsen, for more information as to the impact those improvements might have for PageStream.
